Pomoroast uses the Pomodoro technique with a ritual you already know: brewing and enjoying a coffee.
Focus on one task. Your cup fills up with every minute of concentration.
25 min of focus
Take a short break while the coffee goes down. Stretch, breathe or test your coffee knowledge.
5 min break
Every 4 cups you earn a long break. Adjust the times with methods like Espresso or Cold Brew.
15 min after 4 cups
One task, 25 minutes of focus and 5 of rest. Short blocks are easier to start and to sustain.
It is a time management method created by Francesco Cirillo in the late 1980s: you work in 25-minute blocks with short breaks and, every four blocks, take a long break. In Pomoroast each block is a cup of coffee that brews while you focus.
The classic setup is 25 minutes of focus, a 5-minute short break and a 15–30 minute long break every 4 pomodoros (Pour Over 25/5/15 in Pomoroast). If starting is hard, try shorter blocks like Ristretto (10/2/5) or Espresso (15/3/10); for deep work, Lungo (35/7/20) or Cold Brew (45/10/25).
Yes, it is one of the most popular methods among students. Split the subject into small tasks, give each one one or more pomodoros and use the breaks to rest away from the screen. The lofi radio and ambient sounds help you block out noise.
No. Pomoroast runs right in the browser on your computer, tablet or phone. If you want it at hand, install it as an app from the menu (Install app): it opens like any other app and the timer works even offline.
Yes, completely, and you don't need an account. If it helps you, you can support the project with a donation from the heart button.
Only in your browser, on this device. We don't upload them to any server. We use analytics tools to understand how the site is used and improve it, without including the text of your tasks.
Since your data lives in your browser, it doesn't sync between devices and is lost if you clear the site's data. Some browsers, like Safari, may also clear it if you don't visit Pomoroast for several days.
Yes. In Settings you can pick a brew method (Pour Over 25/5/15, Ristretto, Espresso, Lungo or Cold Brew) or set each time to your liking.
Yes. It keeps running in the background and, if you reload, it picks up where it left off. Turn on notifications to get an alert when each session ends, even in another tab.
The radio comes from Lofi Girl's live streams on YouTube. Some ad blockers or work networks block it, and on iPhone you sometimes need to tap play once more. If a station fails, try another one.
